IPTV User Management
Sharing one IPTV subscription works well when everyone knows the rules. See who is watching, how many connections are free, and fix limit errors in under a minute.
The basics
Most sharing problems come from mixing up these three words. Once they are clear, the connection limit stops being a mystery.
The people who watch. A household of four has four users, whether or not they all watch at the same time.
The screens with a player app installed. You can have more devices than connections; they just cannot all play at once.
The number of streams that can play at the same moment. This is the limit that matters for sharing.
Planning
Count the most screens that play at the same time on a normal busy evening. That number, not the number of people or devices, is what to plan for.
| Household | Typical pattern | Plan for |
|---|---|---|
| One person, one main TV | Watches on one screen at a time, sometimes a phone instead of the TV. | 1 connection |
| Couple | Usually watch together; occasionally one person watches separately. | 1–2 connections |
| Family with teenagers | Living room TV plus bedrooms in the evening, often at the same time. | 3 connections |
| Big match nights | Normal viewing on most days, but everyone wants a screen for key events. | Count the peak, not the average |
Remember that every extra stream also uses bandwidth. Three simultaneous 4K streams need a much faster connection than three HD streams. The 4K IPTV page has rough figures to plan with.
Troubleshooting
The connection limit error is the most common sharing issue, and usually the quickest to fix.
Open the users or overview screen and see which devices are playing right now.
A paused stream on a TV in another room still uses a connection. Stop playback or close the app there.
Some servers take a short time to release a connection after an app closes unexpectedly.
If no device is playing but the limit is reached, message support so they can check the account.
IPTV login details work like a key to the whole subscription. Anyone who has them can use one of your connections, which is why unexplained limit errors are often a sign that details have travelled further than intended.
Parental controls, profiles and favourites are handled by the player app on each device. For a family setup, read how to manage IPTV users, which covers app-level controls in more depth.
You can use one subscription across the people and devices in your household, within the number of connections on your plan. Sharing login details outside the household is not allowed and quickly leads to connection limit errors.
It means as many streams are already playing as your plan allows. Stop playback on another device, or add a connection if your household regularly needs more screens at once.
Profiles, favourites and parental controls are features of the player app rather than the subscription. Many IPTV player apps support them. Support can suggest an app that fits a family setup.
Message support on WhatsApp with the number of screens you want to use at the same time. They confirm the change and any price difference before it is applied.
